Ivie's First Kindergarten Field Trip: Duke Gardens

This past Wednesday, Ivie had her first field trip with her Kindergarten class! While Ivie was excited about this major event in her young life, she wasn't too thrilled to learn that the destination was at DOOK. So it took some major convincing to get Ivie to believe that it might actually be fun.

I took the morning off work so I could chaperone. And, of course, my camera came along for the ride! Ivie's partner for the day was Lizzie, so I got quite a few pictures of the two of them together, along with a few of their other classmates.

We were only there for an hour, but it was the perfect amount of time. The kids had a fun nature walk/scavenger hunt, looking for squirrels, birds flying/singing/swimming, a sundial, berries on bushes, a boat, etc. They also had some time to feed dried corn to the ducks.

The first field trip was, by all accounts, a success. Ivie can't wait for the next one!
