Macie's finally old enough to start saying funny things of her own. So here's my outlet for them!
Ivie's got a dentist appointment this morning to have her first cavity filled. Incidentally, Mommy is nervous and not looking forward to it at all. Ivie, on the other hand, is blissfully ignorant, though she did tell me that she does NOT want to have "her picture" taken at the dentist again. She doesn't like the thing that they put in your mouth prior to x-rays. Who does?!?
Since the appointment isn't until late morning, Iv stayed home with Dale this morning while I ran Macie to school. On the way, we had this conversation:
Macie: Mommy, where Ibie?
Me: She's at home. She has to go to the dentist this morning.
Macie: Why?
Me (trying the "easy" method first): For her tooth.
Macie: Why?
Me (moving on to the technical method): She has a cavity that she has to get filled.
Macie: Why?
Me (finally going with the kid-friendly method): She's got a boo-boo on her tooth.
Macie: Ooooooooooooooh.
I certainly didn't mean to give you the impression that her "funny things" were full of insight. I think we're a ways away from that...
