 Just watched the video of the "parade" through town the day of our trip to Columbia in 1994 for the Missouri 3A State Basketball Championships. We might not have won, but we had the BEST hometown! So great to see all of the little kids lined up outside the schools wearing their orange! I admit to crying as I watched it...

Hickory Christmas, 2012

On Christmas Day, after a fairly calm present-opening session at home and a solid nap for Bryce, we hit the road to Hickory to celebrate with Emma Jean, Doug, Jennifer, Luke, and Rod.

Missouri Christmas, 2012

We made our annual trek to Missouri in mid-December to celebrate Christmas with the Schaeperkoetters.  As has become typical, I will let the pictures describe our family's many wonderful blessings...

Valentine's Day, 2013

My trip to Michael's several weeks ago began as a mission to purchase supplies for homemade valentines I had seen in a magazine.  However, a quick jaunt through their Valentine's section turned into a "SCORE!!" when I found super cute felt valentine kits on clearance.  What could be better than a do-it-themselves project for the girls?!?  My sole responsibility was to supervise Macie's placement of the various stickers and man the hot glue gun for the sticks.  My sort of craft, and the girls had a blast working on these on a particularly nasty weather afternoon at the end of January.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Learning to Tie

Macie came home from school the other day and told me she had learned to tie.  I didn't believe her, much as I didn't believe Ivie a couple of years ago when she came home saying the same thing.  I mean, tying a bow is supposed to be something that I teach my child how to do.  Why are they stepping out and learning how to do it at daycare?!?

So, as luck would have it, I was wearing sweatpants with strings (turns out I wear sweatpants with strings nearly every day, these days!), so I grabbed my phone and started the recorder to catch the moment.

And here it is!  As you can see, Mac is pretty proud of herself.  And I am still recovering from having my waistband tightened further than necessary for her to perform the skill...
